A trade name separates one company from another. It also represents the company's character and structure. An investor can register for a trade name through each Emirate's economic department's mobile or website application.

Provisions for deciding on a business name

The brand name must have the following elements:

• Be followed by the acronym for the company's legal form, such as LLC, EST, PJSC, PrJSC, etc.
• Not to transgress the country's public morality or public order
• Be compliant with the desired particular activity and the company's or business entity's legal status
• Not have already been registered

You will be given a payment vouchers or a transaction number throughout the application process, which you will require to use as a basis when paying.

Notes

• The trade name is registered by the municipal economic development department, whereas the trademark is registered by the Ministry of Economy.
• Trade name certificates can be renewed at any time.
